VW Beetle experts, did CMK ever...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: VW Beetle experts, did CMK ever...

Hi Guys-
A few months back, I had a thread going that discussed the CMK kit of the VW Beetle ambulance/Reichpost version. It was then stated that this particular version was emediate postwar and, therefor, could not be used for a wartime diorama. Over on Hyperscale on page two of the plastic pix under the title: "A true German Icon...not a 109" there are pictures of a VW Beetle pickup. When I first saw this guys kit, I assumed he had converted the kit described above, however, the modeller says it is an old CMK kit.
Two questions: Did CMK do a VW p/u kit? If not, it would be easy to convert the ambulance/Reichpost kit so, my next question is: was this VW Beetle p/u a Second World War version or a postwar one?
With thanks-

CMK did do a pick up VW. I recall seeing it at the local shop. No idea about post war vs. wartime vehicle.

It was CMK 35025 VW typ 825 pick up. I know there was a sticker on the boxtop that showed the pickup truck back end as a conversion to the base kit (photo of completed model).

Here is a link to the built up kit: Armorama built up VW pickup

And a link to the boxtop: VW type 825 pickup
