1st Cav M3A1 for Toadman
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

This is the last of the "Stuarts" that I have for Toadman and everyone else to enjoy. This vehicle had the rear firing port open on the turret so I used my 3 ft ladder to stand on and stuck my hand through and snapped some pictures. Engine data plate wasn't very readable, and again I had to stick my hand in an area where I was afraid to drop my camera. Are those stampings of any signifigance?

Something I didn't notice but was pointed out on the Yahoo Stuart group was that this tank has an engine from a deuce! Shocked It should have a radial engine. Duh! I guess I looked at the pics too fast to even catch it. Laughing

When I saw that engine, I thought it looked wrong, because the two M3's over at the 4th ID museum did have the radial engines, and the M5 had two V-8's. Since I don't know much about these tanks, (but I'm learning) I didn't know what I could possibly have and not have. According toJim Web, then maybe this is a Mexican varient. Once I get with the museum staff, I'll try and find out.
