Canadian 25 mm ammo / NL YPR-765
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Canadian 25 mm ammo / NL YPR-765
Normally the NL YPRs used APDS/APFSDS ammo but for the operation in Afghanistan they got 25mm ammunition from the Canadians.

What type of ammunition is this (HEI)?

For what I've heard from people this is a very accurate and effective ammo. They took out several opposing forces spotters at distances up to 2000 meters. Also a bad guy on a motorcycle was taken out at long distance with a single shot. Rumours are that the bad guys already have given the YPR the nickname ''the green dragon''

It is likely 25 mm Frangible rounds...FAPDS-T, but it could also be HEI-T.

Green Dragon...sounds like the Taliban are chasing the dragon a bit too much with their opium supply.
