I originally posted this in the JG300 Squad Private forum .. but am posting
it here because I wanted my comments about ATC to be read by all users
of FS9 and the FS server network.

Cool website and about the fastest FS server out there ... routinely
see around 30ms latency !

p.s. - and no BS rules about free flight and ATC .....man I hate those
servers where you have a few guys doing ATC acting like the king of
the hill ....
I always announce my intentions at a busy airport .... but it pisses
me off when you get some of these ATC jocks who holler and insist
on a flight plan ..... as long as I have been flying in the REAL world
I can never recall an FAA mandate requiring a flight plan for an aircraft
flying under VFR.
Don't get me wrong .... if you are going to a known destination on a
long cross-country under VFR ... a flight plan is just plain smart. But if
you are just airport hoping with no particular agenda ... a flight plan is
not practical and, I must add, NOT a legal requirement.

When I did more FS2004 online I used to do alot of flying around with some guys on the zone, we did casual ATC with that and it was a grand ole' time. I took a month or so off from FS2004 and when I joined them again, they had become very pro in their atc procedings, I thought, great!, but they did make me file a flight plan to just stay in the traffic pattern in a cessna I was a little put off. People just trying to get the most from the game I guess.. Mr. Green
