The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Amen. Memorial Day (for our members from elsewhere) as it is practiced in the U.S., is specifically dedicated to honor the fallen and has it's origins in "Decoration Day" which dates to the post American Civil War period. Lingering post-war animosities made this problematic (because it was Union-centric) and it was expanded after WWI to include all war dead as it does today.

Amen from me as well. To add to what Doug said, in many parts of the South a separate Confederate Memorial Day is observed as a legal holiday - although this is quickly falling out of use/favor. Neil
