P-38 Lighting Expansion for Flight Simulator Announced for PC

Owners of Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004 will be happy to know a new expansion is coming their way. This expansion adds the Lockheed P-38 Lightning to the list of pilotable aircraft in the Microsoft simulator.

Many variants of the aircraft will be included as part of the expansion. Among the lightning variants are the P-38F, P-38J and customized Lightnings specific to legends like Antoine de St Exupery and W/Cdr Adrian Warburton.


Features of the expansion include jettisonable drop tanks, detailed gun and camera bays, removable gunsights (for improved cockpit vision), and even working gun and cannon effects. Digital pilots can also use their mouse to operate virtually every lever, switch and wheel inside the cockpit.

The release date of this add-on has yet to be set, but check back here at Video Game Generation for updates as they arrive.
