M26 Pershing at 1st CAV......
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: M26 Pershing at 1st CAV......
Here is an M26 Pershing that sits by the 1st CAV parade field. It is part of a Korean War memorial that also has an M4 and an M24. There is a good shot of the serial number,(1983) which I got from the rear tow lug. There was also "T B-197 E-3" stamped into the hull below the MG port.
Per information I received from Joe Demarco, this M26 was built by Chrysler in 1945 and its correct USA number should be 30128529.
M26's built by Fisher should have the serial number stamped into the front hull and are preceeded by an "S".
This particular M26 appears to have been a range target at one time due to the scarring on the turret and holes on the right side road wheels.
