Very cool!

Noticed the 51 Ford. I had a chance to buy one from a family friend and wished I would have. At the time (about 15 years ago) coulda had it for 5K. Used to play music with the guy at a club in Agoura and we would drive it up there. Sweet ride, flat head V8 with twin 2brl. carbs.

I liked the shot of Carlsbad Raceway...I ran my hotrod Sportster there a few times.... Mr. Green
I got a few licks in driving a '65 GTO, though it wasn't my favorite year for that car (I liked the '66 better, slicker lookin', especially the taillights).

Absolutely thoroughly enjoyable...!! Smile

Coincidence....My wife learned to drive in a '65 GTO with a 4-speed. First time she took off she barked the tires real good and thus a legend was born Wink

Seeing all those closed-down drive-ins was a sad site, that's truly a bygone era deeply associated with hot-roddin' good times. Yeah buddy tell you whut!

Hope there's a volume II for the later-model hotrods of the later 60's cars. Guess I was fortunate to be in high school in the mid-to-late 70's when a lot of those cars reached high mileage and were being sold off by first, second or third owners, making 'em affordable to us young punks. I remember a high school parking lot literally filled with Camaros, 'Stangs, Firebirds, GTO's, 'Cudas, a great GTX, Nova's and even an AMX among the stawags, beetles and clapped-out Datsuns. Hard to sit here and believe I once snatched a hard-running '69 Olds 442 for $500, even if it was rude and nasty and funky-smelling.....

Great post!!!!
