Sierra Army Depot (Ca) Tracked Vehicle Storage
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I don't know how to save a picture here so I'm posting the link. The dark vehicles in the upper left are Bradleys. The tan vehicles down the center are M1A1's and the vehicles on the right are an assortment of M113 family vehicles.

FYI, in case anyone asks, I dont think I'm going to start listing modern vehicles in storage. There's lots of Abrams at Anniston, etc...

Of course for years AMARC listed their inventory online and I believe a private outfit still does... In theory it could be done, but probably not in the current register...

Right you are, Neil. This is temporary storeage. It all needs to go to Anniston.

The same area from Google maps
maps.google.com/maps?f...&z=17&om=1

Actually for maps I perfer to get the link, It gives me more options

And Neil I agree, these fall under the exemption in the last line of your intro
"However, the registry is not intended to include modern AFVs that are still in service. "

Doesn't mean we're not interested Rolling Eyes

Bob, That's a picture from before they started storing vehicles for TACOM. The building in the top left corner was once used to maintain "Special" Weapons.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad You are a mean, mean person....

I assume A34 is the one w/ 'Pappy' on the OC hatch?......

The 'guy' who restored 'C-22' ( cryptic hint Cool ) is planning a visit here in the next month or so,... His first, as it turns out. Looking forward to that.

BUT you're still a mean person Mr. Green

I wish...

No, its just a visit along with some extended family. Actually it'll be nice to meet up with him again. (I think he wants to 'snoop' around the Ontos and see if his fabrications were correct.)
