Earlier this week a business trip saw me traveling on I-69 between Lansing MI and Ft Wayne IN. At one point a tractor pulling a flatbed trailer loomed up beside me. At first I thought the huge, tarp-covered vehicle on the trailer was a farm combine, but a closer look showed that it was actually a sand yellow-painted, four-wheeled MRAP.

During the course of my time on I-69 I saw a total of seven of these exact same MRAPs. The northbound ones were just painted hulls, while those going south looked finished, except for external fuel tanks painted with red primer.

I'd like to identify what kind of MRAPs these were: is there a place where photos of ALL the types can be found?

AFAIK, there is no one place to go that correctly IDs each and every version of the different types of MRAPs. A lot of companies are building vehicles for the MRAP contracts, I think Navistar has one of the major contracts.

Check the two follow links to see if maybe your vehicles look like these. If so that should make them International Truck and Engine Corp, division of Navistar MRAPs.

You might look back through the AFV News pages for other MRAP posts. There have been a number of them with different types of MRAPS posted during the passed year or more.

Having reviewed the pics I think the MRAPs I saw on the highway were Force Protection Inc. Cougars.
