I don't do a lot of this since my scoot is used for commuting purposes more than anything....but thanks to the day-shift
nurse not being at her station and a weak spot in the chain link fence which surrounds the grounds of the institute,
I was able to sneak out and spend a day with a coupla friends going through some very fun, very scenic twisty roads
in the hills of West Virginia.

Had a great time and figured I'd share a coupla pix of the adventure now that they have me locked back in my room.

Here's the roads we took, it's not quite like Ascout's adventure on the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee, but if you zoom there
are some sufficient twisties and switchbacks in certain areas:

Here's a spot on one of the smaller roads we were on, and my two riding partners, a married couple that ride Suzuki V-Stroms
...she has a "wee-strom" 600 and he has a 1000, which is good since he's 6-foot-7 and uses every cc that bike offers....

One of the 'larger' towns we hit - Moorefield, near point "D" on the map...my cruiser looks a little out of place with these
touring bikes, but it did just fine keeping up with 'em in the curves...

On the route back we stopped at a scenic overlook and ran into a nice old guy sitting in this.....1964 Fairlane with factory 289
V8 and 4-speed toploader trans, beautifully restored....

Anyway it was such a nice change of pace and a beautiful day, just had to share. Now, back to the grind...but I hope
everyone has just as wonderful a weekend coming up... great country we live in!

Y'all fergit that ah grew up in Nowth Carolinah and have mini raht good memories of rahdin' in the Apps.

North Carolina Ascout? Fathers Kin were all from there. Many trips to Rutherford County. All hillbillys, literally, but the most fun I've ever had and a great group of folks.

At age 11 had my first glass of Muscadine wine there. Wink
