Saw this little humm-dinger a-settin' on the side of a country road on the outskirts of Quantico today and had to stop and take a few pix, I think may Ascout have a new utility vehicle in his future?

Drivers side - juuusssst a little bit of wear on the front fender there (more on that below)...

Bed's in good shape!

Interior is more or less all there and has a fresh pine-needle scent!

That's a crazy shift pattern - hop up & over to the right and down for the 3 -> 4 shift? Someone wanna 'splain that one to me?

Sign says "Runs Great! $5500"....

Here's a close up of the driver's side fender...that'll buff right out I bet...and I DIG how the turn signal lens is more or less intact despite the significant amount of displacement its been subjected to...

Turns out there was a Demo Derby up the road the night before....I'm wondering if that coulda been the source of the fender-bendin'....if so I betcha this baby won the derby and that means you could purchase a race-proven Champion! Mr. Green

Ascout is embarrassed to admit that he's not sure if that's a 5-ton cargo or a deuce-and-a-half, but suspects the latter. It looks a newer model than the one he has on his ancient military driver's license. I don't recall that shift pattern from the "deuce", but as my license was literally filled with vehicles, I don't recall all the details of any of them. My army didn't do "camo", unless you were wearing it, and that was only the chosen few.

Those guys on the AFV forum would know for sure, and as I know the Moderator, I know they wouldn't smack anybody around for asking there.*

Pity about the bumper numbers being painted over.

*You may take a big hickey for failing to photograph the date plate, though. Laughing

Would make a great project vehicle for recreating a "guntruck", though.
