Dodge in Schaffhausen
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Nice restoration work. Always nice to see any of the old beasts running again.

By the way, one of the main uses of the WC62/WC63 in the US Army during WW2 was to tow the 57mm anti-tank gun in the "standard" infantry regiment, also they were used to tow the 105mm howitzer M3 in the infantry regiment's Cannon Company.

My understanding is that very few WC-63 were used by the Swiss Army (10 or the like?). And this specific truck is one of those few. That's why they invested all these efforts in restoring it, even if a WC-63 in pretty good condition can be acquired for a reasonable price.

Swiss private collectors instead pretty often go the other way around, they get a former Swiss Army Dodge and restore it in US markings Smile

They are really grey. It's the color used while they served in the Swiss Army

By the way, we have grey GMCs too Laughing
