Tracked Vehicle Propulsion Power Calculator
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Tracked Vehicle Propulsion Power Calculator
This may be of interest to any engineers on this forum. I recently came across a "Tracked Vehicle Propulsion Power Calculator." Designed by the engineers at Teledyne Continental Motors in 1972, this plastic slide rule came about when the they got tired of crunching numbers by hand. This item became a promotional gimmick, TCM produced several hundred of them giving them out as a freebie at the AUSA show and other events. The back of the calculator has instructions on how to use it as well as pictures of their two primary products at the time, the AVDS-1790 engine which powered the M-60 series of vehicles and the AVCR-1100, which was the engine for the failed MBT-70.
