I'm admittedly tardy on my testing duties. I need to download, transfer to laptop (where FSX resides) without going through direct download on account of ISP modem compatibility issues. Taking me some time to wade into this since I spent a number of hours on phone to Health Insurance provider because of enrollment deadline...and that delightful piece of legislation-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned (and trust me, the big insurance companies don't even know what the hell to make of it). On the plus side, they can no longer stick it to me for being an old white guy so my premiums are decreasing even without "subsidies".

I'll take a crack at this over the next couple of days, but what I've seen in "previews" looks great! (Except, there's no Stoopy in the middle of the runway for me to buzz anymore...a feature only found on my un-circulated version). I'll miss swinging props into the Boss Hawg. Evil or Very Mad

Don't feel bad, I'm only getting caught up on testing, working long hours and deciding to re-board all 20 x 16 feet of my back deck last weekend and this one.... but fortunately the author is a very patient individual (who appreciates keeping ol' Stoopy safe from being ingested into large jet intakes on the runway apparently) and plus it's WAY kewl...

Trex? That stuff's da bomb and Ascout highly recommends it. It's pretty dear, but you'll never have to replace it.

I'm going to miss bisecting the Boss Hawg with F104 wings and otherwise vacuuming him off of the deck with big, nasty GE canister vacuum products, but what price progress, eh? Rolling Eyes

...or maybe there's still time for a "revision". Twisted Evil

No, regular premium deck wood (2 x 6) as I didn't bother pricing composites etc., as there would be a LOT of it to buy plus I need something cheap I can make mistakes with since Stoopy has a new motorcycle he'd like to get in 2014. If it makes you feel better I am using a pretty trick deck board attachment method, called the CAMO system which uses special screws that go in at a 45 degree angle just at the sides, so no fastener heads will be visible when I'm done.

Re: last minute revisions....not sure of the author's timetable but I am wholeheartedly willing to test whatever might need additional input on. We know how projects like this can go, the finishing touches can be the most fun. Smile

The DL650 "WeeStrom" is such an all-around awesome bike there aren't many choices out there where I wouldn't kick my own @ss after moving away from it (and commuting in the rain and winter climes has convinced me on the advantages of ABS), so this is the contender...a red one, of course (maybe with an Iron Cross on the side of the tank?)...

www.suzuki-vstrom.com/en/index.html

If the reviews and pricing (TBD) of this new redesigned model don't pan out, then a new CB1100 is also on the short list.

Back OT, I don't think there are any Sketchup models of it yet that we could convert for the talented, generous, distinguished and gracious author of the new scenery... Mr. Green

Somehow I thought the allure of an extra ~350cc's would become irresistible. Laughing Of course, they had rather foolishly taken the big 'un off the market for a few years and they were never common to begin with. For what appears to be a tiny weight penalty, the extra power is an equation that "favors driving the reaction to the right", as they say in chemistry. Mr. Green

Well, the Big 'un is actually still available as a 2013 model, and has been, but they never offered ABS on it, which I had my heart set on, and they only recently addressed a low-RPM lean fueling issue with an ECU remap...and never fixed some other issues until this new redesign (supposedly), so there's lots of interest in it (with some pessimism held in reserve) from the 'Strom community. But the specs sound quite promising...and if the equivalent mechanical reaction to the chemical concept equates to occasionally being able to loft the front wheel through wanton power application alone, as opposed to having to clutch it up as is needed on the good ol' six-fiddy, yeah I'll be a happy guy. Smile

It'll be a long wait until Spring when it's available though. Some Flight Simming 'round Orcas' will help while the hours away I suspect Smile
