Patton Museum this weekend
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Thanks very much to Dontos and Tumbleweed for showing us around today. We both had a great time and really appreciated your time and knowledge; thanks a lot. Smile I dunno what the plans are on Memorial Day, but if the group can capture them they'll prove to be excellent tour guides.

I'd also like to thank all the Kentucky law enforcement officers (some of whom drive new Impalas instead of Crown Vics...) who apparently have a pretty high speed tolerance threshold. Wink

And a bit of advice for those driving down for Memorial Day: Be prepared for some vehicular paint maintenance upon your return. Shocked

Is that just 'bug splatter' or are some of those stone dings?

I'm guessing both, especially the latter if he went to the museum storage facility... Its kinda off the beaten path down a gravel road.

All that's visible there is bugs. The roads we went on were mostly paved, but we weren't going fast enough around Knox to kick up any rocks. Lotsa protein in that picture.

Don:

Interesting to see other angles of Answer To This. They even have MREs and packs. They still need to mark the side CIPs and there would be one on the rear with the battleboard too. I don't know why they can't find front CIPs... I understand that they are working on getting the rear extended bustle rack and two jerrycan racks.

Don, do you know what is inside the case next to the tank?

Okay, bugs I can handle. I was just wondering if there were other hazards (like extended work zones on highways where you can't avoid stuff being thrown up that would ding up my wife's car if I took it instead of my truck.)

bugs are a big problem this time of year, especially the big juicy Junebugs

The glass covered case has a micro-armor example of the 'road bound' Tank Company column assaulting into Iraq from the early days of the Invasion.
