Something for that nice Mr. Lingle (and his 11th Cav buddy):
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Re: Something for that nice Mr. Lingle (and his 11th Cav buddy):

The sight of that chopper reminds me of a certain day in Germany. In 1989, I was sitting on Range 301 awaiting for the range to go 'hot', when a UH-1 with all the 11th ACR stuff landed near the tower complex.

It was Col Abrams (THE 'son of tank'!! Shocked ) who was the Regimental Commander at the time. He flew in to check on training & offer assistance to us ( 3rd Armored Div ).

I was given the cue to 'tag' the chopper with one of our unit stickers. (hee-hee... actually it was more of the "YOU AIN'T GOTTA HAIR ON YOUR A** IF YOU DON'T TAG THAT CHOPPER!!" )

Yup, you guessed it.....I was honor bound.

So a group of us walked over to the chopper and while a couple of my friends diverted the attention of the pilot and crew, I applied the CAT 89 sticker to the bottom of the tail rotor boom. (...made $20 out of the deal due to side bets...)

"Who dares, wins" Cool

Hi Ascout! Hi Folks!

Thanks for the photos ~S~.

Interesting that none of those M113s have any TCs or Cargo Hatch Observers, only Drivers. Rolling Eyes

Sgt, Scouts Out! Smile

Those macros are available with "no crew", "driver crew" and fewer gun stations with no crew...it's just a matter of conserving resources in the rendering...the designer of the macros was not likely a crewmember himself.

Or...we could just pretend all the TC's are at a TC meeting while the formation is herringboned up like that. Wink
(cargo hatch observers are all drinking beer inside....)
