Jeff Button's nightmare: Not-exactly SP mortar carriage....
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

...just for Jeff. From the Dutch Cavalriemuseum. A man-portable mortar carriage. Better than humping an 81mm baseplate, not quite as good as an M106. Looks like it had a cover, intentionally removed for display...

Doug, thanks for thinking of me, haha. Having "hump'd" an 81 barrel through the woods at Ft Benning and a baseplate in Korea, I can attest to the work-out. However the cart in the picture would only be better when on smooth surfaces or roads. I have gotten to the 1st Cav museum and various places around here and taken lots of pictures but am having computer problems with my Kodak camera downloading pictures. Once I do, I'll have lots of interesting pictures to post, I promise. There are quite a few Shermans here. There is also a wide variety of M60's, to include an M60A3 with re-active armor on display. I have found at least 3 M1's and 2 M2 on display as well. Once I get them, you'll see them. There are also a number of aircraft pics I want to post on "Officers Club" once I figure out my system here. I'm currently inprocessing here at Ft Hood, I keep you posted as to where I'm going and what I'm doing as I find out. I sure missed this site during my move. I've been way to busy to be on here regularly. Take care and you will all be hearing from me soon.

Jeff, what Kodak camera do you have? Assume you have the EasyShare software? I had a problem where the software wasnt recognizing the SD stick like it used to automatically. All you have to do is open up the EasyShare SW, go to "add pictures," then "my computer" to select your external stick/etc (you may have to try a few subfolder options on the stick). It should then see the pictures you have taken, then just basically hit "add pictures."

Neil, my Kodak is just a small, 3.2 MP, CX7300. I believe most of the issue is in the computer its self. I'll just have to work it out. I've been so busy with the move in and inprosseing at Fort Hood, that I've had little time or patience for the computer. I hope to get some pictures posted this week of some M60's sitting in a field behind range control, that I believe are destined for range duty. I would like to record their numbers before that. Take care.
