Bush, I have that FFB2 installer disk somewhere. If it comes to it, I can FTP it to you. Just say the word.

Is he running XP Shades?

if so as far as I know the profiler will be useless...... I don't know anybody that has it working.. but hope I'm proved wrong Wink

If he is running XP go safe mode with FFB2 still connected and remove drivers..

shut down... disconnect FFB2... restart

put XP disk in drive and then reconnect FFB2..

Logic (dangerous with MS stuff I Know) says that it will look for drivers within installed XP won't find em so will then ask to auto search for them.. pulling em off the disk...

Other than that its either a screwed XP install or Hardware probs with stick... (possibly a USB fault) no USB hub involved?

Catcha

Sly

PS have my disks handy does he have Xfire installed? to transfer?

Post subject: Re: FFB2 driver problem.

I'm running XP and have used the Profiles since my old '95 days with my own custom CFS1 macros;
Such as "Raise-Hill" for chasing an enemy around Interlaken, "Remove-Enemy-Trigger" for when an enemy is chasing you around Interlaken, and "Remove-Enemy-Clothes" (sometimes had chicks visiting my rooms for a quick scrap. Heheheh ).
Never had a problem with the driver or the profiles.
Only time I did have a problem with my stick was during a squad training dogfight with EURO_Aquila when I suddenly found myself with the j/s base in one hand, the trigger in the other, and about three feet in between.
Needless to say, I lost.
lolol

I'll mention about your 'SlyFix' and see if that helps him at all.
I suspect it's something unrelated to all we're discussing as there seem to be other problems as well but it's all worth trying.
