SFC Button is back...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: SFC Button is back...

Hello to all after an un-planned extended absense. Working on staff at III Corp, attending Support Operations Course, and my two sons never-ending sports seasons has me swamped!!! However I have never forgotton this forum and I have taken numerous pictures of armor I hope to post here soon, to include and stripping, priming, and repaint of an M4, 105mm at the 1st CAV museum. Today I attended the Temple Air Show and took around 120 pictures that included the Tora, Tora, Tora show as well as the Vietnam experiance show. Many static displays, (only one M113 from Camp Mabry) of numerous aircraft from WWII and Vietnam era. Have to run, early day tomorrow. I'll be back soon!!!! I have some catching up to do.

Jeff have you seen the Advanced Mortar Sytem "AMOS"? It's TWIN 120mm mortars. Breach loaded and can be used in direct fire mode. Auto loader.

I love that AMOS system. But I would be really suprised to see the U.S. adopt it for wide use right now due to $$$ constraints.
I have to get another Photobucket account and start transferring some pictures again. 1st CAV museum has an M4A3 (105)VVSS that was recently stripped, primed, and repainted that I got some pictures of during the process. It's the 5th one built by Chysler and one of only a handful,(3?) known to exist.
