Off topic - sizing chart for US uniforms
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Off topic - sizing chart for US uniforms

I found a site that lists current patterns of US uniforms in various fabrics, like the commercial Multicam. But they just list S to XXXL. Can anyone send a link to a sizing chart for uniforms? Isn't there is a height statement that has to be included too?

General Sizing Guidelines:

"Chest" is the circumference measured just under the armpits.
(This is double the "armpit to armpit" measure on the flat.)

"Back" is from the base of the collar to the tail of the jacket.

"Sleeve" is from the center of the neck to the end of the cuff
(Like a dress shirt).

"Waist" is the circumference around the belly, just below the navel.

"Inseam" is from the base of the crotch to the end of the trouser cuff.

These are taken from

Besides the XS, S, M, L ,Xl type of sizes I remember there being short regular and tall for each size. I remember Tall being generally for people 71" and above (at least in my sizes (Medium or large)

I wonder if the sizes your site uses since I remember there being glove sizes in two different ranges. regular lather gloves and liners were sized 1-5 but Nomex gloves were sized differently. My leather gloves are size 5 but the Nomex one I have are size 11

I may be able to dig out some old uniforms and pull the sizing info off them. I doubt the size categories have changed

I just pulled this page up by googling 'U.S. Military uniform sizes'

Thanks for the links and the tables. The site I found didn't have the short, medium and tall element in its sizing, so I won't be shopping there.

Yes, there are XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL but there are also build measurements; XShort, Short, Regular, Long, XLong.

For instance, my ACU pants are Medium-Extra Short and my ACU shirt is Small-Regular.

I think every forum member has a comment on uniforms. 'He has a QSB - a queer shaped body.' or 'QM only has Size 2 - too big or too small.'
