M60 with ERA?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: M60 with ERA?

Did the M60 ever have the explosive reactive armor (ERA)? I know the M60A1 did but haven't found any info of the M60 ever using it in any service.

Thanks in advance!

Israeli M60's along with M48's were equipped with their first versions of ERA.

Here's the M60 at Latrun, Israel, showing the Blazer fittings:

If I'm not mistaken, the question is being asked with regard to the "slick 60" or as we sometimes refer to it, the "A0" (aka "turtleback).

Joe seems to have covered it, however (his references to models is....precise when it comes to '60's ) Mr. Green

Thanks guys ... and Joe & Doug! Yes, I knew about the A1 or A3 with ERA, but not the "slick 60".

Sorry,

Should've said M60A0 or Slick 60 had ERA too. I can post a picture if you like.

Understood - I had missed the distinction.

Interesting,

That is an M60A1, late model. I always thought she was an A1 based on the TACOM serial number listed. But obviously she's former USMC. The question arises, why is TACOM tracking former USMC tanks unless they are responsible for that too.

Thanks for posting BB-61, First images I've seen of that girl.
