Surviving Panzers website
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The fate of some of the Braschaat fire range and Kapellen depot Fireflies :

Sherman Ic previously at Tank Museum, Kapellen :

Now at Tank Museum, Vissenaken :

...

P-O

P-O, I understand from your Table of known Sherman Serial Numbers that this tank was ALCO built. I have therefore added an entry on PreservedTanks.com:

Unique ID 1431: Vissenaken M4 Firefly

Could I add these photos to that entry? With the usual credit and link to your website, of course.

Trevor,

these photos are not mine, even if I published them on my website to be able to post them here.
The first photo comes from here :
http://www.primeportal.net/tanks/de_craecker/m4a4_wreck_walk.htm

and the second one, showing the tank painted in blue, was provided to me by Michel van Loon, a.k.a. Tichenor. You may ask him for more information about this tank.

Lorraine 37L tractor (shortened) and Renault UE Chenillette (sn 2524) from the Lehn-collection now in State Military Technical Museum ("Museum of brotherhood in arms") - Ivanovskoje, Moscow oblast' (opened in October 2010).

There are some autos from the Lehn-collection.

There are also ISU-152, BTR-40 and BTR-152K (not Lehn).

thanks for the links. The guy on the rcforum did post great pictures of the ISU-152 and Lorraine 37L shortened. A shame that he didn't publish pics of the Renault UE and OT-810 half-track..

Agreed. The arrangement of the rear looks faked, and the way the idler and drive sprocket droop gives the impression of nothing holding them up. The hull sides look too clean, too.

If I remember correct, the rear of a Pz 3 should have a sort overhang where the 2 exhaust where mounted

This one is completely flat

The complete vehicle looks fake, because there are no hinges, welds ... nothing

The latest edition of Military Machines International has a number of pictures of IS2 in the external storage areas at Kubinka. I think some of them may not be on the .pdf.
The magazine doesn't have a website, so no online photos are available.

I propose to change the file structure:

1) Contents of "Surviving German WW2 large demolition vehicles" to include in the file "Surviving German WW2 Sonderfahrzeuge".

2) Section "WW2 tracked / unarmored vehicles" to remove. Her files to place in sections of the countries; "armoured vehicles" to change on "combat vehicles" or "fighting vehicles" or "military vehicles" or... (Variants are possible). Otherwise armoured and unarmored versions of one vehicle will appear in different files (for example, German halftracks). And it is incorrect.

3) T-27 and T-50 to change in places, that not to mix infantry and scout tanks.

4) Presence at one file T-28, T-35 and T-44 is absolutely not logical. T-44 it is necessary to include in a separate file.

5) For "the French files" to create separate section.

Your opinions?

I'd argue against change #1
The Borgward types are very different from the Sturer Emil etc.
Change #2 has merit, perhaps putting the Sdkfz 4 with the Sdkfz250 etc (same running gear)
Change #4 also has merit, the T44 being a very different vehicle from the essentially 1930s tanks.
Change #5 I'd agree with, going as far as to suggest seperate French, Italian & Japanese sections.
