US Army Armor School to Case Its Colors
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: US Army Armor School to Case Its Colors
On Friday, 10 June, the US Army Armor Center and School at Fort Knox will case its colors - to include the 194th Armored Brigade and 316th Cavalry Brigade (ceremony at 9AM at Brooks Field).

There will be a lot of us standing around in a melancholy/nostalgic mood. I am considering wearing a black ribbon on my sleeve (mourning band).

Truly, the end of an era!

I think that it might be more fitting for taps to be played at the end of the ceremony.

.....but then again, perhaps they might want to leave with Ft Knox becoming such a REMF Post......
