Its a multiplayer game. The graphics are pretty good, and the game can get a bit addicting. All you need to do is download the game and create an account to get into the servers.

Not enough nautical games out there IMO.....anyone ever play "Ports of Call"?? Pretty cool, circa 1987 or thereabouts, I had the good fortune to know Jim Sachs who was the graphics developer for it. It's a shipping game, believe it or not, where you start your own shipping company and have just enough money for an old tramp steamer...then you choose your cargo and destinations wisely and the goal is to buy better ships, haul better cargo, and make a certain amount of money in so many years. Actually pretty exciting, you have to navigate the ship at certain points, dock it, manuever through reefs, etc. We actually held a Ports of Call Tournament in So-Cal once. But that's another equally-interesting story for another time.....(yeah I saw the yawn)......

Interesting. Is this something your drive, fly or shoot or is it a command type game? The screens all say it's a Command game, but it's hard to tell from the descriptions..

OK I have a very hard time believing anyone would put that kind of time, effort, money & dedication into building a totally free game..it just doesn't make sense..I got roped into one before where everything was "free, free free" only to find out after doing all the registering, downloading, installing, creating accounts and what-not that you had to pay to get on the server, and it wasn't cheap either so pardon my cynicism...someone let me know if you actually get to play the game wthout a dime leaving your wallet and I'll happily apologize and try the game myself..till then I'm extremely doubtful
