WWII Russian Roads
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Guys, I started this Thread on AHF Forum and got some intersting pictures:

If you could add to this growing collection of the nastiest "roads" in WWII Russia, I'd appreciate it.

Otherwise, it is worth a quick look, just so you can ask yourself--as I did--"What were the Germans thinking when they invaded that country?"

Hi Doug, I think that is Russian for "You ain't goin' nowhere today"! Laughing

Seriously though, I've seen pictures of tanks bogged down in Russia in what looked to be four feet of liquid mud (and that was a road)! Must have been a nightmare campaign for the poor average tank crew!
