Why @#$#% PIGs attention Dontos
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Why @#$#% PIGs attention Dontos

As a platoon mech in 1964 I was sitting off to the side of a firing postion (alway a good placse to be because crap came out of both ends of a Pig "Ontos") in Hawaii (Co C,3rd AT bn.), I had a CVC helmet plugged into a Prc 15 (radio) to monitor vehicle chit-chat. Suddenly I could hear broken stings of words and yelling over the net, I looked up at the firing line to see what was going on, all of a sudden the back doors of one of the "Pigs" fly open, the safety-range officer yells "check fire check fire" (for you non-military minds this means stop firing) The "Gork" (1st Lt range officer) looks at me with "what-hell-is-going-on look". From the back of the "Pig" out rolls the loader who jumps to his feet and sends his CVC helmet fiying , He's shaking his fist at the VC (vehicle commander) and screams "..you SOB, if you fart one more time while in there I'll kill you!"...this is a ture story..I swear by my ratchet.

Shocked Mr. Green

One if the pitfalls of being an armor vehicle crewman...... Laughing

In 21 years I've been on the receiving end and the giving end.

Nothing worse than a Eggs w/ham or Omlet w/ham (T-ration) fart. Besides the always bad, 'kim-che' fueled gas (& body oder) on a morning PT run. Tends to destroy any sort of running formation.....always elect to be in front rank, a front road guard, or better yet rear road guard.

oppps....forgot the 'deadly' smell of human waste, steaming up off the track. No relief when experienced in the dead of winter and the tank is closed trying to maintain some sort of warmth from the personnel heater.

Many of the creeks in korea are human sewage, and the bridges over such creeks tend to be weight rated many tons less than an M1 Tank !!!

Hey 'Old Top'

(Or anyone...)

Can you figure out which one of these items is unrelated?

Left to Right (#1, #2, #3)

(Extra Credit is to name # 1 & # 3)

I'll let this run until tomorrow, since it seems noone is willing to take a stab at it....
