Post subject: Startup view...

~S~ All,

After creating a flight my first screen is the Tower View and not cockpit. I must then cycle through the views until there is a view of the runway (one of the hud views) then click hud to bring up the cockpit view. I've no idea how I screwed it up, but then I'm good at that. Oh well....

Help! Where and what changes must I make to get it back to normal?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Ken

You should be able to just set it in cockpit view, however you want, and then hit ; (semicolon key) or use the menus to save the flight again under the same name.

S~Stoopy,

Let me restate my problem: when I start in any plane at any airport the action starts with my plane viewed in Tower View and in Pause Mode. I then have to click around to get into panel view....every time.

I'm getting accustomed to it but it is still wrong. I've changed something without knowing it and haven't a clue how to fix it.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Ken

Hello Hitman,

Nope, not running anything in the background either. I typically use EndItAll before opening the my comms and the sim.

Everything works fine except for starting in the wrong view.

I did run Mgrab in the background yesterday when doing the Tocumen/Punta Cocos flight. No difference.

My son and I always say that we have been "XPeed" when something like this happens.

Ken

ROFLMAO.....too funny!

Anyway Kafco, did you check the Config file for FS9? Is there a default start view to set?

Hi Kafco,

I use Mgrab from Martin Wright over a number of years and I can assure you that is not the culprit, Martin has made tons of stuff for the FlightSim Community and he allways made shure that his proggies where bug free.

As Bushy said you need to check out the fs9.cfg file , as there is where all the settings for fs9 are saved, and also your startup position, when you save a flight however, it will return in the position as you saved it.

S~All,

Looked into the .cfg file in hopes of finding the answer without any success. Found the [Startup] entries and changed everything, one at a time from =1 or =0 to the opposite (and then back) plus some cominations of changes, and that wasn't the solution.

None of the other catagories looked as though they would apply.

Sure do not wish to do a new install. I'm out of ideas.

Help!

Ken

S! Kafco...try creating a flight with the plane on the ground and in cockpit view then save the flight as the default flight...I think this will fix the problem (keeping fingers crossed)

S~HitMan,

Your suggested solution seems to have worked. Thank you very much!

Stoopy had made a similar suggestion earlier and I must not have applied it correctly. I've been known to do things like that.

Thanks HitMan, Stoopy and all who were concerned about my problem.

Regards,
Ken

Perhaps I was not XPeed, just MSed up, but thanks anyway Mr. Gates.
