CFB Borden - Outdoor Exhibits/Various Locations Gallery
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Thank you!
This gun is a 47 mm SA 37 APX:

You can see one in Saumur:

Most likely it's one of the many captured by the German Army, the Russian F-22 gun may be a former German gun too.

I am quite surprised about the 149 mm howitzer:

It's clearly an Italian piece, from Ansaldo, but with many strange details, the wheels are likely a fake, but I never seen such a shield.

Well done Vagabond! Looks like you tracked down most of the stuff that is scattered around base. Did you take any pictures of the artifacts inside the museum buildings?

That one is already covered in a gallery that Paul posted some time ago:

Thanks for the IDs, Massimo!

Thanks Bruce!

Bruce and Walter - We did photograph the exhibits inside the museum as well, but wanted to post a gallery of the items we had not seen/posted previously. Mrs VB did take high-angle photos of the museum exhibits and some of the AFVs in Worthington Park. I plan to add those photos to the existing gallery from 2008 that Massimo linked to in his post - Thanks Massimo!

Cheers

Thanks for the note, Paul.

and glad to see that the visit was a success.
Just got a note stating that the unique Grizzly/Firefly that was sent to a Toronto High School for "restoration" is to be returned to Borden. Not sure on timing but I'll be on base within the month and will be interested to see if it has shown up. Not sure whether they plan to put it inside or slap it back outside...
