The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

using the correct spelling "Gerätenummer" (no "l") might help you in your search, but offhand I don't remember a complete source.

Actually, there was a list in issues 83-88 of "Waffen Revue" (6 installments), so if you can access these, all your questions should be answered.

I only have issue 86 out of these, I can copy or scan the list if you want, deals with ammunition, grenades, explosives, fuses, boxes/equipment cases, some training grenades and horse-drawn wagons including field kitchens. Cool

you want it copied or scanned? If copied, send me your address details to jensomehner"AT"onlinehome.de, otherwise I'll email it in the next couple of days. I'll also check if one of my cronies has the other volumes, although I doubt it.

As for the Sdkfz 251, tough call, there is no wholly satisfactory book out there that gives you complete coverage- stay away from Ryton's "Schützenpanzer", too many errors in there, and sloppily researched. For complete technical details, Spielberger's "Halbkettenfahrzeuge" is still good, the New Vanguard volume on the Sdkfz 251 is pretty good, the old Squadron/Signal is acceptable- although dated and some info has been superseded-, and I heartily recommend Wydawnictwo Militaria # 12 "SdKfz 251", unfortunately completely in Polish, but a nice selection of photos and very good drawings- there could be a bilingual edition out by now, mine is from 1994... I suggest you strong-arm Mr. Kibbey to pick it up for you while in Warszawa. Smile

Edit: Almost forgot, there are two Panzer-Tracts on the SdKfz 251 out, #15-2 and 15-3, but I haven't seen them yet myself- considering the source, they should cover everything including the testdriver's first name. Laughing

It all depends on what you're looking for, you could have a look at SdKfz.com, they're restoring a few examples and are also the folks behind the Jagdpanther resto. Cool
