What's this deal about the museum being unable to accept visitors? This story needs elaboration.

Doug,

It's a simple tale.....
Our building burned down in October 2004, we lost just about everything, the B17, B25 and C47 were saved, the Stinson was off site for repairs and the M37 was in a storage shed.....
We are now leasing space from the county in an active hangar, so being in the hangar = being on the ramp, so no visitors.
We do make some exceptions, if you call ahead, we can escort small groups in to see what is going on, and our gift shop is now set up in a public access lobby.
We hope to start construction of the new building in the next year or so, donations to the building fund can be made to www.michiganaerospace.org/

Thanks for giving me an opening for my sales pitch....
Of course, donations to the vehicle restorations are always welcome Smile

Ok, at the risk of sounding like a cyber beggar, we could really use some sponsors for these (and our other) projects.
The museum has given me a reasonable budget for the vehicles, but the recent addition of the Van Ette has forced me to re-allocate, the van is in bad shape and I need to get it out of the weather to save what's left of the interior.... my first challenge is to make it roll again, dragging it around the lot with an aircraft tug got old fast. Anyone have a set of 20" five lug wheels for a 42 Ford 1 Ton they want to donate or sell or donate??

Help us save these, and other pieces of history.
We are 503c and I will send donation letters to anyone who contributes.
No contribution too small (or too big) every dollar helps.
Parts, Supplies, paint, tools and workers are welcome too, contact me and I will give you an up to date needs list!

Watch the site for updates too, the bomb trailer is coming along nice, it is about to go out for media blast, then I can start to paint! I have just about all the parts to finish this one, just need some tail lights and new trailer plugs. (hint)

Armor content... We are looking at adding a halftrack in the near future Smile
